Improvement Status-
District and all school buildings made AYP in all categories for 2009.
This means that the combined percent of students that scored proficient and
above were above the state determined annual measurable objectives (AMO) and
these scores are different for each grade level and subject area.
These AMOs increase every year with the goal that 100% students
proficient and above by 2014.
Other factors
that can determine AYP is attendance (elementary and middle school), graduation
rate (high school), and 95% test participation.

*Due to low number of students tested for Gr. 9-11 (Gr. 11
only grade tested in this grade span), the state has statistical calculations
that make adjustments on required AMO scores.
This means that due to the adjustments, we made AYP at that grade span
also.
Congratulations!
Based upon the test scores,
the Elementary and Junior High have been identified as a Distinguished Schools.
This means that they “met adequate yearly progress (AYP) for two
consecutive years in both reading and math AND decrease the achievement gap for
one or more subgroups by 10% over a two year period OR have at least 80% of
students in the ‘All Student’ group meet the state’s proficient and advanced of
student performance in both reading and math.
Individual test results were
provided to parents early in the fall 2009.
Available at the school offices are colored copies of full assessment and
full accountability reports for anyone to take.
If you have any questions, please contact the school at 329-2333.
New this year:
Inclusion of 2007
NAEP data (National Assessment of
Educational Progress). A sample of 4th
and 8th graders in the state took math and/or reading assessments and
results are reported for the state and nation, but there are no published school
reports.
